so, i have to come clean, i was among the choice few (actually many) who endured the late night bedtime in order to catch the very first showing of twilight: the movie. the experience was fun overall and definilty interesting. among the sporatic mother and person my age...there were about 500 screaming teenagers and the occasional boy. i know what you're thinking. they took their girlfriends because it would be girl heaven, right? well, there was actually a row of about 5 males that were there without a feminine escort. i guess we're not the only ones who love edward...right, ladies?
all in all, the movie was pretty good. i don't have too many complaints about it, some of which could have been avoided if those aforementioned adolescent girls were missing from the experience. the other quite large problem was the actress who played bella. i think i might be mostly alone in this because i haven't heard of too many other people who didn't approve of her, but she drove me nuts nonetheless.
i'll just leave it at that for those of you who have yet to experience the joy of seeing edward lifesize and in color (and in the form of cedric diggory, which i surprisingly wasn't upset about after all. he did pretty well considering the beautiful shoes he had to fill).
ps even though i did see if before all of you, i was in the front row and thus had to rub and refocus my tired eyes every few minutes so don't be too jealous.
happy edward viewing!!

Yours has been the best review i've heard so far. I'm with you on the not really liking the actress for Bella.....I am going to see it on Tues. I just couldn't endure the screaming teenagers....I get enough of the dramatic girl drama at home!;)!
YOU should be jealous of ME because I got to see Twilight with your mom!!
I liked it. Didn't love it. But I went in with low expectations. I almost did a post, too, but I will just add to yours.
Bella didn't bother me so much, but Edward did. I just don't think I pictured Cedric Diggory in my head when I was reading the book. Plus his lines were CHEESEY, "Spider Monkey". Also one last criticism...was it me or did Jasper look like a blonde version of Edward Scissor Hands.
But like I said...I really did like it, and I have high expectaions for the next movie/book. Maybe Twilight will bring in a good amount of money, to get a bigger budget for New Moon. I can only wait
Team Edward for life!
lol!
ps. New Moon was announced! Hopefully they'll have a bigger budget. I think that will help tons.
camille-i commented on your blog, but i just had to add something here. yes, jasper did look like johny depp with a bad dye job. i imagined him completely different in the book...and when i say different, i mean that he didn't look like a crazed lunatic that couldn't be social if his life depended on it. well done on the comparison.
ps kristi-i am jealous you sly little devil you
Hahaa, I too was a midnight viewer. They had a couple articles in the lewiston tribune, one was more of a review than the other, which summed up my feelings quite well. But I also blogged (before I read the review).
I LOVED it!!!!!!! It was so nice to not have any youngsters there, I think I did enough hollering for all of them! I can't wait to see it again! See you soon!
Since I am OLD and have not been swept up in the whole Edward/Twilight thing - I really enjoyed reading your comments about it!
It was fun to sneak into your blog from Ashley's - and see pictures of cute Luke and your equally cute Dad! Gotta call and wish him a happy birthday today...:) Hope you have a really really really great day!
I just got your brother to take me again...Edward has nothing on Trent!
Hey, I totally agree with you on Bella. As do a couple of my friends. But I think I was biased against her from the start because I didn't like Bella in the books either. I think I could have delivered some of her lines WAY more convincingly though. And maybe kissed Edward too. Well, that part she did pretty well, but I should probably take a crack at it. Don't tell my esposo. Or the Law, for that matter. He's a little young for me.
I actually want to see it again now, as a more observant viewer, since I was a little giddy the first time, trying to catch all the subtle things from the book.
And, I TOTALLY BEAT YOU SEEING IT! Still got the family love though, so I won't rub it in. Next time you're in Utah, we can talk all about it. :)
Wait...are you here right now?! :)
Just kidding--and I LOVE The Rupps Edward Scissor Hands comment. RIGHT ON DA MONAY.
I'm going to stop commenting now--but isn't it fun to have so many to read all at once?! :)
Call me crazy...or just obsessed...I am going to see the movie again, for the third time with Kyle and Devin. Miss you guys and can't wait to see you!
I finally saw it and I really liked it. And I really like Edward. A lot. Once he got over the "I look like I'm going to barf every time I see Bella" phase, I think he did awesome! haha but that's all part of the story I guess. I want to see it again. The Cullens really ARE beautiful people!
